Graduation!

Hey everyone!

I finally did it!  All the stress and hard work has paid off, and now I'm graduating!  Now instead of stressing over homework and my demo reel, I can move on to stressing over finding work and a job.  Exciting!

Thanks to all my friends family and faculty, and to you for checking out my blog!  WOOT.

You can check out my demo reel on my site!

Hello All!

Long time no post, I know. Things are picking up speed on the school front, so I've been pretty busy working on demo reel stuff.

I took a break for this though, this is based off of a crazy dream I had a few weeks ago about bird people. I rarely remember my dreams, and I really liked the look of the bird guy, so I drew it before I could forget it.

I based the markings off of an Osprey, and the dream sort of took place in the steam-punky sort of place. I'll have to do some more design work for some of the environments and characters in there, because it was a really detailed dream place.

Now that I've bored you with random dream stuff you don't care about...

I'll post a color version of this as soon as I get it done!

Roller Derby Disco

Hey there!

Back with another post, sorry its been a while. We just finnished up with midterms last week and this is the first drawing for fun I've done in a while. This was a quick sketch I did waiting backstage at a show I volunteer for in Laguna Beach called Pageant of the Masters. It reminded me of one of the ladies I perform with (she's a DJ) so I flushed it out, popped some color on it in Illustrator and made it into a buisiness card for her. Hope ya like it Wendy!

I've been so wiped out lately, I feel like I don't have time to breath anymore, so sitting down to work on this was very relaxing. Back to work now, though...

A little bit of MoGraph...

I finally was able to get the midterm from my 3d Studio class posted up here! Took me long enough, huh?

The parameters for the assignment was to create a 30 second 'commercial' based off of one of two images our teacher gave us. I chose the fashion illustration (obviously) and, decided to go with they sketchy, simplistic lines from the original drawing done by my instructor, Brian Smith.

I hope this doesn't take too long to load, I'm unfamiliar witht he video loading on this site so I'm not sure how the quality is gonna be...

Fashionista

My mom is a seamstress, and taught me how to sew, so I've always been really into the whole fashion thing. Anyhow, I was watching Project Runway marathons on Bravo while simultaneously checking out some of the concept art for runaways by Adrian Alphona, and I was just really inspired to doodle, so here it is.

I forgot how fun it is to just sit down and scribble something out instead of laboring over a drawing, cleaning it up and coloring it. Scribbles are fun.

Uhg, back to school monday...

Post-a-liscious

Another post! :is proud: I've always been into comics, and though I haven't read too many, I know alot about te marvelverse and all that jazz (wikipedia is my friend).

AAAnyway, I heard about Brian Vaughn's 'Runaways' back when it first came out, and I was interested in the concept and story but never read it until recently when I got the first digest,. Needles to say, I am now a massive fan.

So here's Gertrude Yorkes and her deinonychus (don't ask me to pronounce it) Old Lace. Old Lace was a gift to Gert from her evil, time traveling parents from the 87th century, but she and Old Lace ran away from home with her friends when they discovered thair parents were murdering innocent girls in order to bring about the Apocolypse. Awesome.

Go read it.

Finals Finals Finals...

It's finals week, which means no sleep, tense muscles, and last minute stressing. I'll be finished on Thursday, which means a massive update in the following days, as I'll have tons of completed projects.

Naturally, since its finals week, I procrastinated and drew a couple of caricatures of my friends. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Bobby Walker, Wayne B. Medina, and Ivan Aguierre!
I uses Alias Sketchbook Pro for these, slapped some color on in Photoshop, textures from cgtextures.com.

Seeing Double

It's the eve of finals week for me, which means stress, lots of homework, and a sore back from sitting hunched in front of a computer staring at UV points for hours on end. I took some time off to post a picture for my friend, Mr. Wayne B. Medina, who was complaining at my lack of posts again. I promise Wayne, no more three month gaps between posting.

So, here's some artwork, this first one I've had for ages but I like it, and it actually inspired a story for my story writing class a couple quarters back, which in turn turned into an idea for a little comic of sorts, which I may or may not ever have time to do, even though it would be awesome-sauce, I tell you.
This second one is a bit newer, a character from the same story, though a totally different style and probably the eventual direction I'm going to go with for the comic idea.

Ha HA Wayne, a DOUBLE POST.

EDIT: For some reason The lower left pic wasn't loading when you clicked on it, I'm not exactly sure why, I'll try reloading it but if it continues to not work I'll just put it in another post. Hmm...

Dusting off the blog...

So, heh heh...I haven't been on here for a while, obviously. I'll make it up to everyone by posting some artwork. I'll be posting much more frequently as well, seeing as I actually have some stuff to put up here now.

For now, here's some doodles from my sketchbook...

Hey Everyone!

First post EVAR, and no one will see it.  Because no one likes me yet.  But they will.  Mwahaha.
Post some artwork soon, after I figure this whole blog thing out.

Cheers!
